Let’s take a trip down memory lane and explore the history of TUMC. It all began when Rev. David French, who had previously served as a missionary in India, came to Temecula to start a church. At that time, there were no buildings or people, but Rev. French had a vision and a mission.

With his determination and faith, Rev. French started knocking on doors, and soon a group of followers emerged. Temporary worship facilities were rented around the city to accommodate the growing congregation.

In 1995, the first construction phase was completed, bringing great joy to everyone involved. However, Rev. French retired in 1997, and the torch was passed to the Rev. Dr. Randy Johnson, who was assigned to continue the church.

Under Rev. Johnson’s leadership, the church experienced further growth, and in 1998, a major second phase of construction was completed. This phase included expanded worship space, a kitchen, and new offices.

The church’s growth continued, and in 2002, funds were raised for a third phase of construction. This phase included dedicated space for youth ministry, additional classrooms, and two new bathrooms.

Fast forward to July 2014, when Rev. Rick Malec was assigned as the Pastor of TUMC. Under his leadership, the church has continued to grow and upgrade its facilities and audio-visual equipment.

Today, TUMC has a congregation of about 300 members, with around 175 people attending worship services every Sunday. We’re proud of our history and excited for the future of TUMC as we continue to serve and spread God’s love in our community.
